Classic lecsó (pepper-tomato stew)

Onion, pepper and tomato — a simple one-pot dish that captures the taste of summer.

Ingredients

  • 3 onions
  • 1 kg lecsó pepper
  • 0.5 kg tomato
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

    Chop the onion and sauté in oil over medium heat until translucent.

    Pull off the heat, sprinkle in the paprika and stir quickly.

    Add the sliced peppers and fry for 5 minutes.

    Add the diced tomato, season, and cook covered for 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Serve with fresh bread; with a fried egg or sausage it's a full meal.
